There is a fine pack of coyotes on the oaks preserve.
Their tracks and scat can easily be found on the trails. Its easy to see
why some folks say coyotes have "sweet tooths," just look at their scat
and you will find it full of grape or blackberry seeds.
The early morning is the best time to observe them as they hunt for squirrel, mice and gophers in the Alkali Meadow. Park your vehicle in the preserve parking area, facing west; or walk past the corral fence to observe them in the west meadow. |
