This small songbird can be identified by the stripes on its flank, sparrow-like appearance and its heavy convex bill. It can be found living in towns and cities, around farms and buildings and anywhere there is an abundant water supply and plenty of seeds. The house finch’s call note is queet. It's song is very sweet and full of cheer.
