dicot in the Asteraceae family -
A small colony can be found west of the red bridge in
sandy dry soil.
This native herb has a striking resemblance to yellow starthistle,
but is much more petite and minus the spines.
The plant grows to 24" (max), and normally much shorter.
The flower heads are also much smaller, being only 1/4" wide.
