Mule fat, Baccharis salicifolia (Ruiz Lopez & Pavon) Pers., native
- a dicot in the Asteraceae family -
this large specimen of mulefat is located just west of the concrete bridge
occasional near concrete bridge and other waterways

Mule fat blooms in March and April.
It is similar in appearance to buttonwillow,
but has smaller leaves and flowers.
