The berries are very toxic. Do not mistake them for elderbierries - elderberries grow on 
large shrubs in great clusters, not on 18" plants.
Nightshade is a very toxic plant, do not eat the black berries from this plant.
nighshade is common in damp shady places - all parts are toxic
never consume the black nightshade berries, they are poisonous
always be cautious when harvesting berries for eating- these black berries can kill
