October 24, 1999 Four Creeks Land Trust hosted an Open House for the general public on Sunday, October 24th. Celebrity Trail Guides, Rob Hansen, Robert Urtecho, Greg Kirkpatrick and Mike Lozito, lead several groups through the various trails. Each guide highlighted different subjects and information. It was a beautiful fall day with a light breeze and nice temperatures. Tulare County Audubon Society shared their bird ID exhibit. It's a fun way for everyone to remember the names of a few common birds. Brian Newton, FCLT Secretary, was the TCAS representative on hand to assist visitors at the display. The 4H Club had nature exhibits, as well. The skull collection is always a crowd pleaser and their animal tracks demonstration was quite interesting. We thank them for their continued support for FCLT and Kaweah Oaks Preserve. Chris Stedman exhibited his basket weaving skill and Karen Kirkpatrick shared the COS Natural Science Displays. We are grateful to all those mentioned and the many others for making the 1999 KOP Open House such a wonderful day. We apologize for not having a camera crew on Rob Hansen's tour of the Sycamore Trail. Fret not, for we'll have a special feature from Rob very soon. click on any image for a larger view and text |
