Farmer's Market opening in Canajoharie May 10

CANAJOHARIE —The Canajoharie and Palatine Bridge Chamber of Commerce announces the opening of the Canajoharie Farmer's Market, May 10th. The market will operate weekly on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of The Arkell Museum at Canajoharie, 2 Erie Boulevard.
The Farmers' Market will feature local produce, baked goods, crafts, flowers, eggs, fruits and vegetables in season, and a variety of preserves and jellies.
There will be baked goods and coffee from Melissa's, a café' in Canajoharie run by Melissa Countryman Davidson, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
Diane Reilly, of Emerald Valley Acres, which is located in the Town of Glen, will supply garlic and vegetables, including tomatoes, eggplant and squash.
Conbeer's Farm, located in the rolling hills of Fonda, will offer maple syrup, fruits and vegetables in season as well as their line of pickled vegetables and other delicacies.
Italian pastries and flowers will be supplied by Logan's Country Gallery, located in Gloversville.
Jill and Ken Gies, who have been involved in farming for over 15 years, own The Pasture, located in Minden. One of the unique features of The Pasture is its small-scale hatchery, which currently produces three breeds of chicks. They will provide vegetables and pasteurized poultry.
Hand-crafted jewelry and pillows are Mary Ann Thomas' specialty. She is a veteran craftsperson, who displays her works at galleries and juried craft shows throughout the region.
Peg Ryan of Juglan Acres, will bring berries, honey and vegetables in season to the market.
Michele McGlone, who operates Stone Well Farms, will offer eggs, specialty jams and jellies and produce.
