One large colony on the Sycamore Trail, and one on the far west side.

These odd formations were discovered on several salt marsh specimens on April 27, 2001. Mrs. O'Bosky, a 3rd grade teacher from Rocky Hill School in Exeter, spotted them while enjoying a field trip with her class. Our expert, Dennis Haines, has identified them as case bearing moths.  Inside the cigar shaped structure is a caterpillar that feeds on the leaf surface.
